The USC 96 Boys Premier captured USC's first state title by winning the U18 Division I Championship at the AYSA State Cup Final Four Nov. 9-10 in Montgomery. The team, coached by Paul Tedesco with help from DOCs Rusty Campbell and Phil Moyer, defeated the second-seed Birmingham Legends 3-2 in the semi-final match. In the final match the boys fought hard and defeated the top-seed Vestavia Hills Black, 3-1. Vestavia's team had won the championship the previous four straight years. The victories over Vestavia and Legends were the first wins ever over both of these long time rivals. Congratulations to the players, coaches, and parents for a tremendous achievement and a great season!
