Congratulations to the USC 99 Girls Blue for making it to the finals at the Germantown Invitational Tournament in the Samba division. In group play the girls defeated TCT 99 Girls (Tupelo) 3-0, tied Atlanta Fire United 99 Gold 2-2, and then defeated Fort Worth FC 99 White 1-0. In a hard fought final, they lost to Evansville SC 99G Blue (Indiana) 2-1. The USC family would like to congratulate Coach Craig, Coach Corey, and the team on a great weekend and season.

USC 02 Girls Take Championship at Governor's Cup

Congratulations go out to the USC 02 Girls for winning the U10 Girls Championship at the 2011 Alabama Governor’s Cup. The girls defeated Capital City Streaks (Montgomery) 10-3, Valley Football Club (Madison) 5-0, and River City Raptors (Decatur) 5-4, in round robin play. The USC family would like to congratulate the girls and their coaches on bringing home the championship medals and wish them continued success.

USC 03 Boys are Champions at Governor’s Cup

Congratulations go out to the USC 03 Boys Santos for taking the Boys U-9 championship at the 2011 Alabama Governor’s Cup. In round robin play the boys defeated Homewood Jowers 5-0, RC Revolution 8-0, Homewood Delgadillo 2-1, and Fusion Blue 6-2. The USC family would like to congratulate the team on their championship and wish them continued success.

USC 02 Boys are Champions at Governor’s Cup

Congratulations go out to the USC 02 Boys Corinthians for playing up and taking the Boys U-11 championship at the 2011 Alabama Governor’s Cup. In round robin play the boys defeated Fusion Blue 4-1, NAU Decatur Heroes 5-4, Opelika Soccer Association 6-0, and tied RC Revolution 3-3. The USC family would like to congratulate Coach Andy, Coach Rusty and the boys on their championship and wish them continued success.

Congratulations to the USC U10 boys for making it to the finals at the TNFC Battleground Tournament in the Blue division. The boys fought hard all weekend and had a strong showing in the tournament. Congrats to coach Yinka and the boys for reaching the Championship game.

Congratulations to the USC 00 Boys Cosmos for winning the Grey division of the TNFC Battleground Tournament of Champions. They opened with a 4-3 victory over host TNFC 00 Arsenal, then defeated the Clarksville 00 Fusion 2-1 in their second match. Their final match ended in a 1-1 draw against Collierville 00 Lobos (Purple) giving the Cosmos the lead in cumulative point standings. The USC family is proud of the boys and wish them continued success throughout the season.

Congratulations go out to the USC 98 Boys who were finalists at the 2011 TNFC Battleground Tournament of Champions. In group play, the boys tied TNFC 98 Crew 1-1 and defeated White House Revolution 4-2. They had a rematch with TNFC in the semi-finals and won 2-1 in a shoot-out. In the finals they lost 1-0 on a golden goal in overtime to the Murfreesboro Strikers 98 Premier. The USC family would like to congratulate the team on being finalists and wish them continued success for the rest of the season.

USC 94 Girls Have Success at Atlanta Cup

 

The USC 94 girls team represented USC very well in the 2011 Atlanta Cup U19 A Division this past Labor Day weekend . The girls won their group with a 1-1 tie in their first match versus Augusta Arsenal Gold, a win against Cobb Strikers-White 1-0 and a win against Concorde Fire South-White 1-0. They advanced to the semifinals where they lost in a thrilling 3-2 overtime match to West Metro SC out of Atlanta. Congrats to the 94 girls on a successful weekend!

Congratulations to the USC 01 Boys Blue for winning the U-11 Liberty Division of the 2011 Liberty Cup Soccerfest. In group play the boys defeated BUSA Primero South 6-0, Vestavia Steamers 02 Black 4-3, and tied TN Rush 01 Swoosh 1-1. In the finals they defeated the Homewood Eagle 7-4. The USC family would like to congratulate the team on their championship and wish them continued success for the rest of the season.

nick_signing.jpgNick Smith has signed to play soccer at Spring Hill college under Coach Tim Brooks starting the fall semester of 2011, along with fellow teammate Sam Keiser. Nick is a midfielder and has been a member of the United family since it's inception. Nick has been coached by Bob Vayda, Paul Tedesco, and Dave Nadler. He attends Grissom High school where he is currently coached by Steven Van Horn, also a United coach. As a 3 year varsity player and this year's co-captain for Grissom, Nick holds several awards. These include being a member of the 2011 AHSAA class 6A state soccer championship team, best-midfielder all 3 years, 2010 Brendan O'Halloran Coach's award, 2010 Huntsville Times Elite Soccer Team Honorable Mention. Nick would like to thank the United family for helping him to accomplish his goal to play soccer at the collegiate level. He couldn't have done it without you!

Congratulations to the USC 02 Corinthians Boys team. They traveled to the Stones River Spring Shootout this past weekend and competed in the Bronze division of the U9 age Group. It was their first tournament experience and the boys did a great job. They tied TUSC Blue in the first game 2-2. They beat Harpeth Futbol Club White 2-1 in the next game. They had a rematch with TUSC Blue in the semi final match and on golden goal in OT, won 2-1. They came up a little short in a well fought final match losing 3-2 to the Iturbide Chivas USA team out of the Nasvhille area. It was a great weekend and we are very proud of the boys, congratulations to them and their parents.

 

The Grissom Varsity Boys (reigning Class 6A state champions) won the 2011 Island Cup Tournament at Orange Beach this past weekend. Along with our own Coach Steve Van Horn (Grissom Varsity Boys Head Coach), several current and former United players are members of this team to include seniors Nick Smith, Jake Vayda, Matthew Volz (current players) and Michael Giudici and Chris Brahm (former players). Grissom went undefeated with shutouts over Tulsa Memorial (Oklahoma) 6-0, Foley 5-0, Edmond North (Oklahoma) 3-0, and hometown arch rival Huntsville 1-0 (championship game decided by kicks from the mark). Nick Smith had 3 goals for the tournament, Jake Vayda 2 goals, and Matthew Volz had 1 goal. Nick Smith was voted tournament MVP. Congratulations to our United coach and players!

sam1.jpegCongratulations to Sam Keyser for signing a soccer scholarship to Spring Hill College. Sam holds the honor of being the first male soccer player from East Limestone High School to receive a scholarship to play soccer at the collegiate level. The United family is truly proud of his accomplishment. Sam played on United's 93 team coached by Dave Nadler. Spring Hill College is located in Mobile, Alabama and is coached by Tim Brooks.

 

93 Girls are Finalists at Alabama State Cup

Congratulations go out to the United 93 Girls who were finalists in the 2010 AYSA State Cup. The girls made it to the finals going 2-1 in group play winning games over Vestavia 5-1, BUSA Elite 6-0, and a loss against BUSA ECNL. The girls had a rematch with BUSA ECNL in the final match and battled hard to a narrow 3-2 loss. USC applauds the girls on their performance in the final match and congratulates them on their success in the Alabama State Cup!

The boys went undefeated in round robin play with wins over Fusion Blue 4-3, Fort Payne 6-2, Capital City Streaks 4-2, and Homewood 4-3. The USC family would like to congratulate the team on their championship and wish them continued success.

United 98 Boys Take Championship at Germantown

Congratulations go out to the USC 98 Boys for winning the U13 Memphis GIT Bronze Division. The boys went undefeated in group play with wins over MidSouth FC Blue 1-0, Kutis Academy Team-Red 1-0, and a tie against WKYFC 1-1. In their semi-final match they defeated AFC Lightning Premier 3-0. In the finals they defeated MidSouth FC Blue 2-0. The USC family would like to congratulate the team on their championship and wish them continued success.

Congratulations to the 99 Girls Courage for taking home the Finalists medal in Harpeth FC's Music CIty Invitational tournament. The girls opened with a narrow loss to the TNFC 2-1 but then beat Mockingbird 6-0 and TN Rush 1-0 to make it to the finals. They lost the final in a hard fought game against TNFC. USC would like to congratulate the team on being finalists and wish them continued success for the rest of their season.

Congratulations go out to multiple USC teams as they enjoyed a successful weekend at the TUSC Adidas Cup of Champions in the Nashville area this past weekend. There were 5 teams that made it to the finals with 4 of them bringing home the championship. Tournament championship teams include: 96 Boys winning the Gold Division99 Girls Power winning the Silver Division, 01 Boys Comets winning the Red Division, and 01 Boys Hardrollers winning the Blue Division. The 97 Boys were finalists of the Gold Division. The 01 Boys Rowdies made it to the semi-finals losing to our own 01 Boys Hardrollers. The United family would like to commend the teams on their great showing at the tournament and wish them continued success.
