United Soccer Club sends three Players to Nashville SC Academy Trial

Three United Soccer Club players were scouted and selected to attend a week-long trial in November 2020 with Nashville SC, the Major League Soccer franchise in Nashville, TN.

The Nashville SC Director of Talent Identification, Kevin Flanagan, attended several USC practices and games and evaluated the 2007, 2008, and 2009 age groups in the clubs’ environment first.  Three players were identified and invited to attend a week of training with the Nashville SC Academy 08 and 07 Boys' Teams.

The boys traveled to Brentwood, TN to the "Gold Mine" training facility and practiced and played two friendly matches with the teams in November 2020.  The U13 Coach Kosuke Kimura and U14 Coach Alan O'Connor provided incredible instruction and priceless feedback to the players during their trial.

United Soccer Club Director of Coaching, Rusty Campbell spoke with Kevin Flanagan after the trial and he was extremely complimentary of USC.  He reiterated we have an outstanding program culture and many highly developed players.  He said the three boys from our program who were identified to bring in for trials did extremely well and represented USC extremely well.  Congratulations to Reid, Arnav, and Diego for this honor of being selected to attend a week long trial with Major League Soccer Nashville SC Youth Academy!

United Soccer Club is extremely excited and humbled to establish a new working relationship with Nashville SC to help local players with the talent, drive, and determination have an opportunity to play soccer at the highest nationwide level of youth soccer in the US.   *In addition to offering a clear pathway to the professional team, Nashville SC Academy provides players with unique opportunities to participate in Major League Soccer and distinct international experiences.   MLS is committed to player development and is establishing this new broader and more inclusive competition structure, that fills the void of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, to ensure young players are consistently competing in high quality games against top competition throughout the year.  (*From Nashville SC website)
