Welcome to AFC Huntsville-USC, the highest level of soccer offered in North Alabama. In conjunction with AFC, Alabama's largest club, USC affords teams and players opportunities to play in ECNL, ECRL, and SCCL.
The Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) was founded in 2009 to enhance the developmental experience for the youth soccer players in the United States through:
GOAL:
The goal of the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) is to change the landscape for elite soccer players in the United States through innovative, player-centered programming and to enhance the overall experience by creating a better, more enjoyable and more successful player, coach and club development model.
ACTION PLAN:
VISION
The time is now for clubs in Alabama to start working together to grow the game. The clubs that comprise Alabama FC share a common vision for the next generation of soccer in our state and region. With a limited player pool, it is imperative that we work together to find the best model for the Alabama player. ECNL is the highest form of soccer in Alabama.
To accomplish this goal, the ECNL developed a common organizational structure, composed of individual clubs operating collectively under the direction of a commissioner. Because the ECNL exists to promote the common interest of its member clubs, the ECNL operating model is unified and comprehensive and values accessibility and sustainability. The ECNL utilizes four primary delivery mechanisms, or platforms, for “Changing the Daily Environment.”
The ECNL created the ECNL Regional Leagues as an important platform addition for players and clubs to fuel the development of their players and to provide a proving ground in competition.
AFC joined ECRL from U13 and above age groups for the 2022 season and beyond.
We believe that ECRL is designed to service our deeper player pools along with streamlining the pathway for our player advancement within the club. Aligning with an exclusive league like ECRL will continue to create a target-rich environment for college placement. Adding ECRL to our pathway will help with passing players between our ECNL and ECRL teams due to both leagues being under the same umbrella.
The ECRL platform continues to grow significantly, providing additional resources and college showcase competitions to more players, coaches, and clubs around the country.
BENEFITS OF ECRL:
A Southeastern Clubs Champions League (SCCL) player will have an opportunity to compete in SCCL, Alabama State League and State Cup, and older age groups will attend appropriate college showcase events. You will pay SCCL team fees and club fees in addition to purchasing a uniform kit.
