U12-U14 PRE-ECNL Tryouts AT MERRIMACK TURF
U12-U14 Boys and Girls PRE-ECNL Tryouts- All athletes who played on AFC Huntsville SCCL teams and/or on their club's top team should attend these supplemental tryouts.  Any and all other athletes wanting to be considered for these teams & AFC player pool opportunities should attend.   Everyone is welcome. Athletes can pick up their shirts starting at 1:30pm at check in.

Before Tryouts

BEFORE TRYOUTS:

Register online BEFORE coming to tryouts (The sooner the better!)

  • Make sure your athlete is well rested and hydrated BEFORE each tryout session.
  • Please use the restroom BEFORE coming to tryouts.  We can’t guarantee the facilities will be unlocked and available. 
  • Discuss with your family the commitment level and cost of club soccer and make sure it is a good fit for your family and your athlete BEFORE committing to the team/club. 

  • Try not to add any extra pressure to your child BEFORE, during or after tryouts. 

WEATHER AND FIELD UPDATES:

  • Any last minute changes due to inclement weather or standing water on fields will be communicated via alert through Team Snap and on our Facebook, Instagram & Twitter pages.

Note: Due to possible last minute changes, always check the tryout/evaluation schedule above and USC Social Media accounts prior to traveling to the fields.

During Tryouts

DURING TRYOUTS:

  • Please refer to the tryout schedule above.  Your child will try out with their given age group DURING tryouts. 
  • All weather delays/cancellations will be sent through the online tryout registration app and will be communicated on social media: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.  PLEASE ALWAYS CHECK OUR SOCIAL MEDIA, WEBSITE, and YOUR EMAIL IF WEATHER APPEARS TO BE QUESTIONABLE DURING TRYOUTS! 
  • Parents are welcome to stay and watch DURING tryouts, however, all USC policies regarding sideline coaching and distractions will be enforced.
  • Spectators should stay away from the sidelines and immediate area of the staff and players DURING tryouts.  Crowded sidelines can create undo stress and unwanted distractions for players. 
  • DO NOT coach your child in any way from the sidelines DURING tryouts.  (This is also applicable for the season.)
  • NO PETS ARE ALLOWED AT HUNTSVILLE CITY FIELDS per city ordinances.  Please leave your furry friends at home!​​​​​​​

After Tryouts

AFTER TRYOUTS:

  • A team meeting will be held AFTER tryouts.
  • A $250 or $500 non-refundable deposit is due immediately following tryouts for ALL PLAYERS whether financial assistance will be awarded or not. 
  • Jersey numbers will be confirmed/assigned to new players AFTER tryouts.
  • You will order your uniforms online AFTER tryouts (DO NOT DELAY!!)​​​​​​​
