Leonardo Santin

2021  Alabama Soccer Association Boys' Competitive Coach of the Year: Coach Leo Santin! 

Leonardo Santin was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. A t the age of 5 he began to play the sport that changed his life.  During his youth career, he played soccer at E.C. Taubate and A.A. Francana.   He after came to the United States on a soccer scholarship where he played at Northwest College in Wyoming, and Union University in Tennessee. After graduating, he returned to Brazil where he began his coaching career.  He was a staff assistant coach at A.A. Francana, where he had played youth, and he also served as an assistant coach with Botafogo SP, Batatais Football Club and Comercial Football Club.  While in US, Coach Leo Santin was the  Assistant Coach at Alabama A&M University with the Women's team. 

Coach Leo has always had big aspirations in the game of soccer. He has always loved the game, and seeks to train and develop players at the highest levels.  He earned a Barcelona FC Coaching Certificate after he spent several weeks in Barcelona, Spain along with the Barcelona F.C -B team, under the tutelage of his good friend, and team head coach, Jordi Vinyals.   
Coach Leo, also holds two coaching licenses from the Brazilian Soccer Federation, along with a tactical periodization course certificate. His infectious passion for soccer, and genuine caring attitude towards people is his trademark. 

Leo holds a USSF (B) License and a Brazilian Confederation Professional License (CBF License), which is issued by the highest federation of soccer in Brazil.   He was alongside other participants including Andre Jardine, the Brazilian U23 National Team Coach and former Uruguay World Cup  Captain and former Brazilian World Champion, Ricardo Rocha.  

Coach Leo and Camilla are excited to be returning to the United States and to United Soccer Club!
