Recent 00 Boys News

The USC 00 Boys (Elite) are D-II Finalists for the fall 2013 season.  USC began the Final Four weekend with a hard-fought semi-finals match against top-seeded Fusion of Gadsden, and advanced with a 4-2 victory.  The final was a rematch with second-seeded Homewood Freedom of Birmingham, just one week after a 2-2 draw in the preliminary round-robin.  The USC 00 Boys struck first and led 1-0 at half but found themselves down 2-1 midway through the second half.  They fought back to a 2-2 draw only to see Homewood strike again with 10 minutes left to play.  USC had several opportunities late but could not find the net as Homewood made tactical changes, moving several mid-fielders into a defensive posture.  The match ended 2-3.

Congratulations to Coach Nadler and the USC 00 Boys (Elite) for a most successful season.

With our state league matches complete we finished the regular season at 6-1-1.  We will await the remaining results to determine State Cup seeding; our lowest seed will be #3.  The schedules and venues have already been published by ASA and I have updated our game scuhedule accordingly.
