Coach Amber Cryer is a Huntsville native who grew up playing soccer in the area under the direction of many United Soccer Club coaches. She was first introduced to club soccer when she joined Brendan O'Halloran on the Kicks '91 girls team in 2002. During her youth soccer career Amber has won state championships in 2003 and 2004, as well as finished as finalists in 2006 and 2007. Amber has had the opportunity to compete and represent the state of Alabama in the Regional tournament in 2005 and 2007. Outside of club soccer Amber was also a 5 year starter for the Alabama State ODP '90 team.

She was a 4 year starter at Grissom, where she won a High School State Championship in 2006. While at Grissom Amber was awarded the golden boot and was selected for the All-State First Team 3 years in a row. She was also selected to compete in the North/South High School All-Star game as a Junior.

After high school Amber went on to play collegiate soccer at UAH, where she was a two-year starter and competed in the GSC Final Four tournament both seasons. Sadly, Amber had to leave playing behind after battling chronic Achilles injuries during her time there.

Amber continues her love for the game through coaching. She has been involved with the program since Spring 2010 and is the current Grissom Junior Varsity Coach. We are excited to have Amber as the head coach for the USC 06 Girls Academy, as well as the Lead Instructor for the USC Mike Latty Soccer Academy U6 Program in the Fall.

She is a Pre-K teacher at Union Hill School and is recently engaged to Braxton Cescutti.
