Leonardo Santin was born in Sao Paulo, Brasil. At the age of 10 he moved to Ribeirão Preto, Brasil. During his youth career, he played soccer at E.C. Taubate and A.A. Francana. He came to the United States on a soccer scholarship where he played at Northwest College in Wyoming, and Union University in Tennessee. After graduating he returned to Brasil where he began his coaching career. He was a staff assistant coach at A.A. Francana, where he had played youth, and he also served as an assistant coach with Botafogo SP. He moved to Huntsville, AL last year to take on the role of Graduate Assistant at Alabama A&M University with the Women's team. He also began working with United Soccer Club at that time, and has done an outstanding job developing and working with several teams for the club.

This Fall Coach Leo will be the U8 Boys Academy Director, as well as head coach for the U13 Boys USC 04 Boys Premier, and will serve as a Club Technical Consultant. He credits his experience and influence to Brasil, his home nation that has won more World Cups than any other (5 time World Champions). He will apply that knowledge and experience to work with USC Technical Director Mike Latty, and Staff Directors Rusty Campbell and Phil Moyer to create a club curriculum over the Fall, that USC will utilize for years to come to continue to improve and develop the level of soccer in the Huntsville area.

Coach Leo will be one of the staff coaches at the Mike Latty Mini Camp series this summer, and he also offers skill training sessions during the summer for the community.

He has had an immediate impact on soccer in our community, sharing his experience and soccer education he has received at such prestigious organizations. His most recent contribution to the community came in the hiring of his friend and colleague, Paulo Massaro to come to Huntsville to join the United Soccer Club staff for the Fall. In addition to his own experience and knowledge, coach Leo hopes to help soccer in the community by reaching out and connecting to other resources and coaches like coach Massaro, to bring them to Huntsville and share their knowledge. We look forward to seeing what other resources and exciting hires will come to USC. Coach Leo holds a Professional Brasilian Coaching License - SINTREFESP, levels A,B, and C.
